WE WANT TO HELP

SBEU members to raise $200,000 for the less Fortunate

HELP US HELP THOSE IN NEED

SBEU is organizing a State-wide Charity Run/Fund Raising conjunction with Labour Day, 1 May 2005.

The main objective of the Charity Run/Fund Raising is to raise funds for the SBEU Charity fund. We want to help those in need, the less fortunate and those struck by calamities and disasters, to help them ease the suffering.

SBEU members throughout Sarawak, their families and friends will be out in force on Labour Day 1 May 2005. The Charity Run will be held in Kuching, Sibu, Miri, Bintulu & Sarikei at 7.30 am.

All Participants and contributors are invited to present in memory of those who perish in the Tsunami disaster as well as those who continue to suffer. We will hand over the proceeds to the respective organisation. This will be how SBEU, a Union of employees who is always concern about the plight of fellow workers, celebrate Labour day- To do our bit for the less fortunate.

From now until the run, Participants will solicit contributions from members of the public by personal appeals.

SBEU 1st set up the Charity Fund in 1991. Our 1st State-wide Joggerthon in 1995 raised almost $100,000. The Fund was augmented by members OWN contribution who donated more than $200,000 in 1997, 2001 & 2004 when they received their salary arrears.

The Fund has distributed more than $200,000 to various charities, victims of disasters, including Children of Iraq, Blind Centre, Cheshire Home, School for Mentally Retarded, Malaysian Red Crescent Society and many others. Our latest contribution is RM30,000 to the State Disaster Relief Committee for the victims of the Tsunami Disaster.

There is now a need to supplement the fund. We hope to raise at least RM200, 000. Each of our 2500 members is expected to raise at least $100.

Please help us help those in need. Make a generous contribution.
