NEW HQ FOR SBEU  

SBEU celebrated the New Year with the official opening for our New HQ on 1 January 1999

President SBEU Dominic Engkabang and Kg Branch Chairman Joseph Chua jointly declared open the building ina simple and elegant ceremony attended by SBEU EXCO members, Branch Chairmen from all 5 SBEU branches, IRCs and bank managers. Amongst the distinguished guests were Punjau Sepoi President SCBA and Mr. Lim Heng Seng, Chairman Industrial Court East Malaysia.

The new HQ situated at 2nd Floor Lot 79 Queen's Court Kuching was purchased for RM200, 000 in November 1998. The property is a unit of a corner shop house with strata title with dimension of 35 x 68 feet equivalent to an area of 2500 sq. feet or almost two units of normal shop lot.

Renovation works was completed in December 1998. There are 2 fully equipped conference/meeting room which can accommodate up to 150 people, 1 library/resource centre, office for SBEU HQ as well as Kuching Branch, and the General Secretary. There is also a store, waiting area and pantry.

The Library/Resource Centre has a comprehensive range of Law Reports including Industrial Law Reports, Malayan Law Journal and books and materials on Banking, Human Resources Management and Training.

With the new HQ SBEU is better equipped to serve the needs of our members.
