New Collective Agreement 2006-2008

INTERIM CA SIGNED

AGREED ARTICLES WEF 1 July 2007

Disputed articles to be referred to Industrial Court

After receiving mandate from members at Branch General Meetings in all SBEU Branches, SBEU has signed an interim CA with SCBA on agreed articles. We list below the highlight of the agreed articles.  For full details please refer to Collective Agreement page.

For the disputed articles we are working with SCBA to refer them to the Industrial Court for a Decision.  These are Salary, Performance Bonus, Retirement Age/Benefits, Housing Loan Interest Rate, and Enhancement of Non Clerical job value, Maternity Benefits & Insurance Coverage.

SALARY

We have rejected SCBA offer of 5% + 2 % salary adjustment. We are demanding a 25% salary increase.

We will push for a fair equitable and transparent Performance Pay System, Retirement Age to increase to 60 years, employers’ EPF contribution to 18% and Staff housing loan interest rate to be not more than 2%

EFFECTIVE DATE

Effective Date is 1 Jan 2006, meaning that arrears for Salary, Overtime, Bonus will be backdated to 1 January 2006 once a full CA is handed down by the Industrial Court/Agreed.

TRANSFER

Banks must come to an agreement with SBEU on a Tranfer package BEFORE they can effect transfers.  There must also be a permanent housing allowance as long as employee remained on transfer.

HOUSING LOAN

Any loan amount as long as monthly repayment does not exceed 75% of gross take home salary. Repayment until retirement This means that maximum amount of housing loan at current salary levels would range from RM130K to about 290K - a major increase from the existing $160K.

HOURS OF WORK-5 DAY WEEK

Members earning above RM2000 who work overtime will be paid full overtime rates instead of current allowance of $10 per hour worked. The current payment will continue until the Full CA is agreed.  Arrears will be backdated to 1 Jan 2006.

Weekend banking allowance OF $35 PER DAY if banks require members to open branches  on weekends (Sunday) in addition to overtime.
